The Power to Keep Going

by | Jan 18, 2022

You know you should, but you don’t.

You know you shouldn’t, but you do it anyway.

It’s the hamster wheel from hell you’re so familiar with.

You know the common denominator I’m referring to?

Self-sabotage.

You know what I mean when I say self-sabotage?

It’s the guillotine chokehold you place on yourself.

👉 Voluntarily.

You know it.

I know it.

The universe knows it.

What if very little of the way your life has turned out isn’t actually due to the lover you haven’t met, the money you haven’t made, the body you haven’t sculpted, or any other justification of your current adult self?

What if you’re pulling the pin to the grenade and placing it directly in your lap on purpose?

“Erin, how dare you suggest I would purposefully sabotage my own life!”

Really?

There are millions of people who stay in toxic relationships, show up to jobs they hate, believe the bullshit lies they tell themselves, and trade their most ambitious desires for the self-sabotage that keeps them perfectly confined within their own same tired struggle.

👉 Safety over feeling alive.

👉 Ease over better health.

👉 Simplicity over making life purposefully harder.

Today, I’m not going to offer sympathy to make you feel better or bullshit affirmations to recite in the mirror.

Rather, I’m going to call you out on your shit in a way that punches you in the throat and wakes you the fuck up.

Expect it to hurt.

Here it comes…

The biggest mistake people make is giving up on themselves.

The second biggest mistake is thinking they have all the time in the world to try again.

Do you understand how limited your time on earth really is?

Most people don’t.

And because they think their time is endless, they lack a strong sense of urgency to get up and get going…

…which keeps them constricted inside a life they secretly detest.

The sooner you realize that we’re all on this earth for a very short time and then we die… the better.

If you are frustrated, disgusted, or sick and tired of where you are in life, stop quitting on your ambitions and yourself.

Understand this:

Bad shit happens to all of us.

Really bad shit.

We all have bad days.

We all have busy schedules.

We all have relationship issues.

We all feel like a failure sometimes.

It’s not just you.

That’s the mentality that has brought you to this very place that’s rotting your core.

What’s it gonna take for you to step on the gas, do the real work that makes you feel like an outsider, and go full throttle?

Think about this concept for a minute.

I’m asking you flat out…

Is it a motivational speech you need to listen to on repeat for the next 10 days?

Is it a terminal diagnosis you’re waiting on?

Is it the “perfect opportunity” that’s supposed to fall in your lap?

The fact that you aren’t where you want to be right now should be all the motivation you need to get off your ass and handle your shit.

Still want to self-sabotage?

Fine.

But don’t spew some entitled weak minded bullshit about how people who have done the real work that makes them feel like an outsider for over a decade and built their dreams are somehow lucky in life.

That’s the battle cry for the mentally weak!

The most powerful weapon in your arsenal is the power to keep going.

Keep going.

It’s literally that simple.

You lack of willpower is yours and yours alone.

With fire,

Erin
