As the years go by, it’s more and more obvious who is posting a fake life and who is the real deal.
Fake people can’t keep the narrative going year after year.
They go broke trying to look more successful than they are.
They trade their time pretending to be successful instead of doing the real work that moves the needle in life.
These people have zero sense of fulfillment.
Then, eventually their entire charade implodes.
We’ve all seen it happen.
Here’s what happened to me…
Several years ago my social media life was perfect.
My friends constantly told me, “I wish I could be more like you.”
PTA President, beautiful home on 5 acres, church on Sundays, great kids, solid marriage.
Only, it was a big, fat fucking lie.
My personal life was a train wreck and everything came crashing down on Nov 13, 2015.
And it all came from one place.
👉🏼 Me.
Now, back to my original point…
There’s a reason I don’t believe in “fake it ‘til you make it” bullshiit.
Because respect is earned through truth.
Brutal honesty.
And getting your shit together requires a level of honesty most people are incapable of.
Listen… way too many of you are focused on what people think, instead of focusing on where you want to be 10 years from now.
Be vulnerable.
Be embarrassed.
Admit you’re just starting out.
Own your truth.
Follow through with the promises you make to yourself.
ZERO FUCKING DEVIATION.
This upcoming year, if you do anything, at least entertain the possibility that EVERYTHING YOU BELIEVE about success and happiness is wrong.
When you do the real work that makes you feel like an outsider…
…and change your life for the better…
…you’ll see how full of shit and misguided the world really is.
Pulling myself apart and slowly putting myself back together the way I deserve was the best decision I ever made.
I hope you find the courage to do the same.
Starting today.
